I have found a 2001 explorer sport for a great price. I am contemplating buying it, however i wanted some opinions on the reliability of this ford. I know it is a ford, but the deal is unbelieveable. It is a base model and 2 wheel drive. Thanks in advance for the ideas.

I had one for about a year. It ran great and didn't give me any trouble at all. Had about 90,000 miles on it when I bought it from a public auction.

I had one with the 4.0 I think it was a 99,and the crankshaft broke right behind the harmonic balancer,I talked with the service manager at the local Ford dealership and he said he had seen that several times on the 4.0
