New doubler?

I noticed in the Pirate thread that the 241/fig 8 205 kits are available now as of 4/17. :waytogo: I'm definitely interested in one of these setups. But can you do the work on the 241? I don't have the setup to weld it up. I can pull it apart and cut it. Just cant weld the parts up. So I would have to find somewhere in the Springs that can do it, or get it done at ORD. Thats one of the main reasons I was looking at the 203/205 doubler. But I would much rather have the 241/205 setup.:woot:

I'll let Stephen fully answer but I would buy a magnum box if you can't do the work yourself for the cut down 241. The Magnum does cost more but there is a lot of work that needs to go into the cut down 241 that might make it close enough to the Magnum to call it?

The doubler assembly was the easiest part of all the stuff i got from ord. Ive been fighting triple sticks motor mounts and driveshafts for weeks. The doubler took about an hour to assemble once i got the case half back from being welded and that includes having to dissasemble because im stupid and forgot to bolt the seal plate for the 241 shift rail on the adapter before bolting it to the 205. Hopefully soon ill get my driveshafts and i can review how great it works.

We have a batch of cores coming in to start the process of pricing the weld job and rebuild job to sell complete cases and part of that process will be figuring the cost to weld up a customer's own case. Luckily the rebuild is going to be simple since there are 2 bearings involved and not much else. We're moving that direction and plan to offer the service but I don't have a price at this point. Luckily you're close in CO and the front case half isn't heavy to ship so it'll likely work out well.

I will say I can't wait to test this thing out. Drive line please hurry the f up

what kind of triple stick shifters are availible for this? pricing?

We have the same triple stick pricing as the 203/205, $289 with one of our dual case kits.

Price of the kit is $495 for the GM fig 8 2" up rotation kit (the most popular), all others are $560 as they need a clocking ring on the front of the 241.

Ok great one more question and it may be kind of dumb lol but can I just cut off my long input instead of having to swap to the short 205 input? I have the round pattern 205

You can't cut it off because it isn't splined deep enough, send me an email and we'll look into a trade. Now that we have the fig 8 case version nailed you don't need the round pattern 205, there are some oddball applications that do want those and the long input (i.e. putting a 205 behind an NV4500, TH400's with the wrong output shaft, etc).

We will have a round pattern version but it's hard to say exactly when, we're stupid busy so new projects are hard right now.

If you don't have a setup already, you REALLY need to make another crossmember to mount to our plate on the backside of the 241.

The 241 housing is super strong in pure torsion but with a 205 bouncing on the back of it, it's not. Add a crossmember under our plate and it's a stout setup, I've yet to hurt it in the last 4 years or so.

Can't believe that I didn't take a picture. Anyway I got my triple from ord ill post a pic in the morning. It would fit perfectly if I didn't do a 4l80.

Is there any news or updates on this thing ? When will it be on the web site and will you have a 27 spline available?

Hey I sent an email a few days ago about swapping my long input for a short one not sure if you got it or not. Anyway I am really needing to do that and get the round pattern doubler its holding up my build I have a fairly large order to get the last of my parts and was hoping I could get it all at once any. Idea on a time frame???
