new dude say\'s howdy
Good day! A buddy sent me the Colorado K5 address.....you know, the one that shows the Dana60 front end (drooool drooool), and I stumbled accross this forum. Had to get in!!
I've owned my '70 Jimmy for 15 years now and will most likely be buried in it. Never once considered parting with it! Bought it stock for $2K and immediately applied the obligatory 4" rancho lift and a set of 36" Goodyear Wranglers. It was a 4 speed. Quickly went through that half ton running gear and replaced with a 1 ton rear with Detriot Locker and the 3/4 ton front end spindles. Added some more height, 38.5x16 Super Swampers.Pretty much ran it like that for awhile until the 350 crapped. Got a deal on a new GMC Targetmaster 454 still in the crate so in it went. Dropped back down to 36" Super Swampers and that's where I'm at now.
She's big, blue and is a continual ongoing project. Wouldn't trade her in for anything else!! Pics next if you all so desire!
See ya and looking forward to participating. Ed
