unfortunately, i`m not lieing....well if i`m gonna put a plow on i got to get rid of the bumper anyway...so might as well get some cash for it, or trade for a plow setup
 
spray the tranny down and clean it up. smell the tranny fluid when its hot to see if it smells burnt. how much do you want for the winch & bumper. i'll give you mine if i get yours.
 
Well Summer Just started so I guess you are S.O.L. till the winter.

Sell, the bumper and buy a rear locker. That way you wouldn't need the winch.

yea i realize that,my plan is to get the tranny fixed and just ride it for the summer, or at least until i can find a new DD....sorry guys, according to my mom she basically wants me to not be more than 30 minutes away, and be rich, if i want to go wheelin, so it pretty much wont work, will i still be able to go with you guys when you go wheelin? to me taggin along for everything is just as fun if not funner(that way i dont have to be the one to go home with a wrecked truck):D

sounds kind of stupid saying this, but please dont hate or dislike me for doing this as its the best thing for me to do in my situation:o
 
there's always room for someone to video tape. do what you gotta do. if i break my truck, often, i still got another car to get around in. my mom lectures me too. give her a week and tell her you didnt screw up your truck, it just needed to be cleaned. she will have cooled down by then. then you can do what you want

Yeah thats good advise.

As for the tranny, I'd take it to a shop and have them flush it.
That is just one of the many reasons I like running the 465 :p:

Also speeking of video tape, DirtyJim, I wanna see it!
Post up all the pictures too
 
eh thats not really how my mom is, i think i might go with doing the winter thing, i`m glad you guys understand, i would actually rather tag along and do some recording and snap some pics

dave as soon as i look more into the tranny i`ll let ya know

i wish i could, but probably couldnt afford it, do you not get stuck with a locker?...with the price of one of those and having it put in, i`m not sure it would be worth it...i think i`m going to just stick to having it my winter truck, its still worth it as it got me around all winter, no problems, and it was fun as hell too...so i think i`m still getting the fun out of it...this way i wont have to be repairing my truck everytime i comehome from the trail
 
The locker I have is the Power Trax lock right. It is the cheapest locker and is around $200. Plus it is very easy to intall, it just replaces your spider gears. You could do it in an afternoon.

BEN it sounds to me like you have a little less of a problem than you think.... it sounds from your description that its a u-joint....

Yeah I know I wanna see this the video too. DirtyJim has it and hasn't posted it yet.

BlackBlazer717 is right, U-joints is probably your problem, not your tranny.
 
well you`re both right as far as the tranny not being the problem, its the rear end, after i finished cleaning it up a little, i went back outside when the ground was dry, and there was a nice big puddle of gear oil in the driveway, smelt it, and found out that it was the same exact smell that i smelt the WHOLE way home yesterday, for like 2 hours because i got lost a few times, going 70mph, i dont think theres even a chance in hell the rear ends any good
 
pop the cover and look for chunks of metal. going to get a new usb cord, ill put up the video later.
 
i will do that, i`m still waiting to find out whats goin on with the motor before i make my final decision on the truck

all depends on the motor, if it needs to be fixed in the bottom end or whatever requires taking out the motor and or replacing the motor all together, i wont be able to...no time/money help...if need be i`ll either sell or part it out
