The whole exhaust system under my 86 K5 looks like its been under there since 86.. Stock manifolds, 2 1/2 piping and dual glass packs.. Im wanting to redo the exhaust system so I just picked up a set of ceramic coated long tubes with 3 inch collectors and going to run 3 inch pipe all the way to the back... Im 27yrs old and like it loud but not straight pipe load.. What are yal's suggestion for a muffler or mufflers??

flowmaster 50 series.its loud when you get on it,but cruising its not that bad.i have 40 series and they are strait pipe loud when i get on it..pretty loud all the time.my gf says it shakes the house at idle.let alone when i rev it in the driveway.haha

If your looking for the quietest muffler with the best flow nothing beats the Dynomax super turbo Hemi mufflers. No 17749 and 17747. Now thes arent the best flowing but if your looking for a less agressive tone thes flow very very close to the bigger louder mufflers. i like them because i can still have a good exhaust tone while not wakeing up a whole neighbor hood.

run Super 40's! I have um on my truck and i can set off peoples car alarms in parking lots.. fun!:D

I've got hedman long tube with 3" collectors, 3" true dual, and 3" center in/out super 44's. It'll set off car alarms on the next street. Sounds real good at idle though.

while we are on the topic I am about to get my exhaust done on the new truggy build. My exhaust guy has a flowmaster 40 delta 3" in/out that someone ordered and didn't take. The delta is supposed to be the quiter in the cab muffler. Anyone have experience with that model?

no experiance with them but youtube has multiple videos of the delta flow 40 some are better than others but in general they sound pretty close

Headers, 2.5 pipe, h-crossover, Magnaflows. Pretty quiet at idle. Loud at hard throttle. Quiet in cab at highway speed. Mufflers are stainless. Flowmasters are regular steel at same price.

I like the Magnaflow I just put on my diesel k5. Sounds so much better than the flowmaster 40's I had on it before.

Yeah i ran a single magnaflow on my 2000 drag truck. Loved the way it sounded on a LS1.

second on the Hooker brand mufflers, i ran one on a Camaro several years back, nice tone, mild volume, opened up when on the throttle, but not annoyingly loud. Perfect for my old ears :D

plus they don't have that "tinny/canny" sound that Flowmasters have.
