Hello You All! Thanks to the World Wide Web i found this forum! The world is small after all.....
My name is Marc, almost 40 , married, two kids and we are living in The Netherlands, 30 minutes from Amsterdam.
After driving the Chevy Caprice for a few years I REALLY MUST HAVE a Suburban soon! Due to tax regulations it must one from or before 1986. Not any younger.
Other wishes I have are airco, 4x2, cargo-doors, in mint condition and ofcourse not more expensive than lets say....$2000,-...... kidding!
Next link shows one of my favorite at this moment:

Admin says: You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.

Oke, no link than....

Well, as you cannot see now :(this one is still in California. I contacted the seller, he is Dutch as well. It's no problem to ship the car to Holland but the thing is: I must take it than and that's the problem I have for now besides the are no Cargo doors and the price of $ 15000,-....

Next December I will be in Orlando. I think I'm going to have a look around there.:wink1:

Hope to learn a lot from you all!

welcome to the site.

we have a few newer members in the bast month or so from the middle east or un there in your area of the world.

you will find your self looking around here a lot to feed your need of a full size gm ride. :D

Welcome on board. I'm too from this side of the world . . . ;)

For an 86 2wd Suburban $15000 seems a lot of money to me. Even if it is in very good shape. Or is this with shipping and customs included?
If I spend that much money (I probably would :haha:), then I'd have a look at the truck personally. That leaves you either with a truck in your country or you plan holidays in US (that are my future plans for the next rig).

Have you looked in germany for one? Most of the people here are looking for 4x4, so a 4x2 is much less.

Walter

Pick up one from a dry state like California, Arizona, etc. where the rust isn't going to be as much of a problem. Heavy snow states are going mean snow and salted roads, which are tough on the vehicle.

Welcome aboard! I've just sold my old rig to Holland, it went to Bob Motorsports, do you know him? You guys seem to have a big fan community up there. Take your time in finding a good one, I've waited a long time, too, but it was worth it :)

Hallo Ik welcome je en felicitatie te ons familie. Mijn vriendin.

This is a great site and you are going to love it. No greater place for these vehicles.

Oranje heerschappij! :D

Thank you all for this warm welcome!
Of course dieselponyexpress, $ 15000,- is a lot.
It is including transport, taxes, licenseplates etc. As soon as I have
reached my 15 postst I will post the link to the car.

It is possible to buy a Sub from a dry state that is already here
in The Netherlands. Few companies here are specialized in it such as
Californiaclassics. Put the w's in front and a dot nl at the end :wink1:
and you will see their link....

He bot0611, you're welcome!

And I'm sorry Gamma, I do not know that company. Google tells me it is in Steenwijk. It's not nearby me....

Metrodps, was this done by Google Translate ?? Nice! Few mistakes but understandable anyway!

Tried to do from memory I know there is male and female in usage but been long time. I used to play a game called Red Moon and was the only non dutch member of the Dutch army so I had to learn fast.

Just keep making post like one for each person you respond to till you get your 15 post mate.

No Walter, I didn't. Mobile dot de shows some Sub's now and then.
I prefer 4x2 because of the more simple technic and (and correct me
if I'm wrong) the 4x2 drives much more comfortable on
normal roads like we think we have here....:wink1:

Marc,

for $15000 all included and if a clean truck, it seems a fair price to me. On the company' s website it looks like they do a lot of imports and know their business.

For the german market i think there's not much more than mobile de. But I'm not looking for another vehicle at the moment and therefore may be not up to date.

Welcome, and if you have any desire to see the most modified Blazer Chalet in the world, it is still for sale right there in the Netherlands. One ad here, and a Google Dutch-to-English translation here. Originally a California vehicle, it was modified in the Netherlands to be wheelchair accessible from the lift at the back. It's also the only Chalet I've ever seen with the Blazer taillights filled in.

*11/2/09 Edit - above links expired, this one should work for a while... *

If you have nice normal roads a 4WD will ride just fine. 2WD does ride softer, but if you're used to European cars you might find that it rides too soft for your liking.

BTW, I was born in Amsterdam and still have 90% of my family in and around Amsterdam. my parents immigrated to Canada when I was 2 years old, so my Dutch is pretty rusty to say the least.

Anyways, welcome to CK5, and good luck with your search!!

Haha, very...euh...unique! IJsselstein is not that far away....

No, after a few more posts I will post a link of
my dream. Still in California, still beautiful, nice blue, 454.....

As rusty as my school-English haha!

Well, it's an ugly language; Dutch.
It's always funny to see how many Dutch words and names are
being used for streetnames in f.e. New York.
Also the word "apartheid", used all over the world for as far as I know
and everybody knows what it means.

Thanks Rene.
