I just put in my 14ff in my truck and now its time for the front. Im not sure excatly wat front end to look for?

Um I would like to junkyard a D60 but Im not sure how expensive that is. If its too much wat r my other choices?

ok its a 91 blazer with 700r4 383 38 tires I dont have a specific place i go for off roading but I do everything ( Not so much rock crawling)

Yep get ready for a dana 60 and ya better start thinking about regearing to some 4.88s or your trans is gonna start screamin at you.

if i do find a d60 in a junkyard wat usually needs to be done to it

Bearings, seals, possibly kingpins or shim the kingpins. Definitely steering linkage. Would be a good idea to get the right gears in it and drop a locker in plus crossover steering.

If ya dont wanna fall victim to the black hole then go find yourself some 35s and be happy with it :haha:

The rear is 4.10. Ive heard its ok for 38 wat do you think

Eh I would say no. Theres guys on here that dont recommend running 35s with 4.10s and a 700r4. I would leave it out of OD for sure to save some of the trans life.

As far as a cheaper axle the answer is no. Unfortunately there is no step between "puny" and "beefy" for front axles. I mean you could get a deal on a d60 and get one cheaper but in the end you still need to freshen it up and make sure its the proper gears whether you deck it out or not. I doubt yull get away with less that $800 and that would be with a real deal...

I'm not trying to sound like a dick but tires are really the last thing you should by. Obviously you have the where withal to know that you need to do other things than jack the truck up and throw tires on it but poking around woulda been a better first choice.

Is trying to trade those 38's for a set of 35s out of the question? Taking a little hit there could save you a whole lot in the end.

Wat gears would you recommend. On the dana 44 front is 4.88 and the rear it 4.10 ( Im not currently driving it)
