Any special conditioning or anything like that before I get started on this dog? This will be a brand new OEM from LMC.
Just bolt it up, fill it up and go? or what?

Have heard that there is but Im not sure. The LMC catalog show a year group of 81-86 and then 87-91. How muc hwould you want for the 87 should we find that it is the right one? Also, are you willing to ship it to TN?

Why didn't you get a poly tank? A mnetal one will only rust again.
Even OEM's get it now. My 96 Dodge has a factory poly tank.

Because it was like $329 vs. $150. But Im gonna coat the $hit out of it will undercoating. It should last as long as I own it.

So you gonna keep us posted on what they look like inside, when you get them side by side?

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

Has anyone used a gas tank sealant before?? I'm going to be replacing my tank soon too and I was looking at the different sealants from POR and other companies. I haven't had any problems with rust at all, just LOTS of dents and gouges. My 31 gallon tank is now about 25 gallons. I was just wondering if the sealants were worth it or are they just for aging tanks that have rust or leaks?
