Just got off the phone this morning with GM concerning new GM performance engines. They are in fact going to make available in July a high performance 383. I'm so excited! The price is about $3,800 so that might be a deterrent for some. If you'd like to take a look at the specs here is the GM performance catalog online Part number 12497317.

My ass is numb...

Is that the 450 ft-lbs one for trucks? I keep seeing Pace including it in all their National dragster ads... I have heard rumors that it is out and rumor that it has been cut. Looks like a sweet motor, but I thought I remember the truck 383 HT being like 3 g's? I suppose they jacked up the price

The listing for this engine has been on that site for over a year....back when I first started trying to order it. Never could actually buy it. Was told GM never really sold it after the first test units were produced. If they are going to start making it now, hooray, but I'll believe it when someone actually receives one. Did this sound negative? JT

Speaking of GM engines has anyone bought or checked out Edelbrock's crate 350's. You can even order one with a Q- jet. They look pretty hot.
