I'm still waiting for that MEFI 4 controlled, FI'ed HT383 to come out...
Otherwise I'll be forced to buy the RamJet 502 :D

Not sure if that qualifiies as a "crate".....it's still missing a few parts!!

It's not March yet!

If your into racing, it looks like a really nice block.

Any more info on these?

I'm not up to snuff on my L's and S's is that a BBC? and is it "New age" only or can I put my Callies 4.25" crank in it Brooks aluminum rods and JE forged pistons?

See I have thses things and I'm thinking my stock '86 BBC block just won't cut it when I put the 8-71 on it................

Long story short I need an aftermarket block I guess.............

I imagine its a small block. The components are all new age though, im sure yours arent compatible.

4.25" bore with a 4.50" stroke equals 511 cubic inches. I'm guessing it isn't a small block :D

I noticed those specs after, but being LS6 LS7 territory I
m sure you're right about being not compatible. But a guy can hope............

That is the new gen III/IV engine. Small block category. The LS1/LS2 basically forced gm to call all of the new small blocks the LS series, even though they have Every gen III/IV engine will take a 4 inch stroke crank. GM really did it's homework on this engine. The only way that you could put a 4.5 stroke crank in that engine is to increase the deck height, which is why that block is available with a 9.7 in deck.

....to add I know theres a few aftermarket companies I can get an aftermarket block from....I was just hoping I could use a super GM block.......I haven't decided if I want to fork out for an aluminum block yet though.

generally GM will release that information to the dealers long before its actually available. i've actually got the passwords to get in, and i can check pricing and availability on any GM part. :deal:

i tried, the pricing has not been released to dealers yet. i'll check it every little while and see when they come up with a price.

I'm going "Old School" soon.....................
