new GM diesel

Hmm very interesting.............I would love to get my hands on a standard cab short bed z71 with one of those engines in it. Maybe a chip or exhaust and turbo/pump work and I would be in business.

Liquid urea. As in piss?

Look at the engine outline. In one spot it says 6.2 (not 6.5 or Duramax?) and the other it's refered to as "small block gas engine." Excellent proofreading:rolleyes:

So what else is wrong? Maybe it's made by Ford?:haha:

Duke, Duke, Duke.....

Read my Sig:D

The 6.2 was replaced by the 6.5 in about '93. Now they have the Duramax. Part of my comment is why would they compare it to an engine that they phased out over 10 years ago? :doah::haha:

BKinzey, Bkinzey, Bkinzey...

They are comparing the silhouette of the new diesel engine against a 6.2l small block gas engine that is currently in production. This new diesel engine isn't going to be competing with current diesel engines, it will be offered in smaller vehicles like mid-size SUV's according to the article.

“To really be able to have maximum flexibility in how we use this powertrain, it has to fit in the envelope of the gasoline small-block engine. It gives us a lot of flexibility to introduce this powertrain,”

I think they should bring back the 350 olds diesel engines. I have three in my garage to help the effort! :haha:
