So you buy then ask?:doah: kinda backwards don't you think?

HAHA JK, something like that, I have no idea. A year and a half ago I'd have paid $4000 for it, if it were clean. Now, my 99 Yukon is almost worth that much:doah:

www.kellybluebook.com , www.edmunds.com, www.nada.com . Most go back 25 years so they should have a value for your truck.

Used to be that a rust free truck bought a substantial premium over the blue book prices in the areas where rust is a problem...but with gas prices not any more. I see trucks now selling for blue book or lower that five years ago were going for double or more blue book. If you can afford the hobby now's the time to buy.

Today I saw a discouraging sight; it was a 99 GMC Yukon, just like mine, and the owner had to put the price down even further (it's been on sale for weeks) to an amazing price of $4800! It just won't sell. Now, one can name a price, and that's what it'll sell for, because no one will pay more. They're all flocking to their Prius's and Hondas and Cobalts.

It looks like a nice rig. But these days, who knows? The value of full size trucks has taken a nosedive.

I heard on the TV the other day that dealerships in Salt Lake won't take them on trade as they can't sell the ones they have.

That seems kind of hard to believe. I think they would just give you a low-ball offer.

So, spare us the trouble of guessing, what'd you give for it? By the way nice truck and welcome aboard !!!!!

I did that for kicks and giggles a couple weeks ago, and they turned me down cold. They told me the ones they have on the lot won't go either, so their value is decreasing as well. Brand new pickups on the cheep:D

There's a dealership here that used to sell single cab 2wd V8 Silverados for 15k out the door. It was one of their big deals.

Now they're selling 4x4 versions of the same trucks for like 12k!
