New guy getting started

Hey all, been lurking here for a while, but a new subscriber. I've decided its time to get my own k5 and I'm looking for advice. I'm getting started w/ biodiesel, and would like to have the 6.2l diesel engine. The goal is to make a hunting and fishing vehicle that I can take out and not worry about as much as my newer nicer 4x4s. So far i've narrowed it down to an 87 thats had the body work finished, but has a nice 350 gasser in it for around 3000, or an 86 m1009 w/ 10000 original miles w/ a few dings in the driver door for around 4000. I would like to have a/c, but i've heard the a/c conversion is not to difficult. So do I save a few bucks an swap engines, or start w/ a factory diesel. Thanks in advance for the replies...Dave

can you get everything you need to install the diesel for under a grand? if you want a diesel id suggest buying a diesel.

Well I guess I lucked out I've found a couple civilian diesels in the last couple days. One even has a banks turbo kit on it! Will let you guys know how it goes...Dave
