New guy here - 1984 K5 - Houston

I'm in the Houston area. I found a 1984 K5 Blazer for sale locally and decided to go buy it tonight. It is in excellent condition. NO rust, new engine, tranny, Holley carb, driveshafts, suspension, AC system, Warn hubs, awesome sound system, and more. Everything works properly and the interior is very clean. Truck is black and silver.

I'll post pics after I bring it home tonight. Just wanted to say hello.

I've always wanted a K5, and am REALLY glad I found one from the mid-80s.

Are there any specifically good or bad things with this year model I should watch out for?

Of course look for cracks in the frame by the steering box . As for everything working , try the cruise control , mine didn't work on the 83 so I took it off underhood ( only bad accessory ) . Mostly just do a good look at all the normal stuff and make sure it drives good and all signals light . Hope you enjoy it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

hey hows it going 84's rule good choice i live up here in midland texas and i have an 84 the only downsize to 84s is the cat converters but that aint to bad

Did all 84's have cats. When I bought mine it doen't have any. How ever I also don't have to pass emissions. Let me know

no 84's didnt come with cats conv. they have too have em now + smog pumps to pass emisions well at least in Tx
