just wanted to say hello my names peter, ive been itching for a k5 for a while now and just picked up this 79. i have alot of plans and headaches ahead..

thats all i have for now, i already have a new ignition system, intake, wires, plugs, and carb coming. i also have a new hood painted that will be going on soon.

Welcome and congratulations. I see you have the hood open already, so you can start pouring money into it. Thats what ee do here.

That's a good looking K5. Is it as rust free as it looks?

No way!! The 78 blazer I just bought today has the same paint job. Your truck looks way nicer than mine though.

My .02 is get a membership, it's well worth it. Welcome!

/\ For a moment I actually thought it WAS the same truck /\

I won't lie, I had to go look at mine outside to make sure it was still there. :D

What are the spec's on that motor? It caught my eye.

Edit: Did you remove the heater assembly from the firewall?

short story on truck

i bought from second owner, have original paper work even the undercoating paper. the guy i got it from bought it built it late 80's and let it sit in that gas staion garage for years. he told me that it was under a cover for 7 years at one point. theres 75k on the truck and he said 25 miles on the motor, trans and t-case. stock 454 with cam and tunnel ram is what i was told, th400 with shift kit.

thanks for the comments guys

yea bought a edelbrock single plane intake and getting a 750 carb(I think), both carbs need to be rebuilt and I want to drive the truck in winter so tunnel ram will be gone.

I have a quick question for the gurus, I was trying to figure out if theres a way to tell witch of the three 6 inch lift kits this is. I saw on there website there are three different 6" kits. any help would be awesome.

this is the info from the ad

These were off of a 1980's chevy truck they are the heavy duty springs. The rear springs eye to eye straight across measure 45 1/2 " and the length of the spring is 47". The fronts spring eye to eye measure 48" and the length of the spring is 52"This comes with 4 springs Sky Jacker, 4 shocks skyjacker Hydro 7000, U bolts and hard wear. I bought this set from a buddy thinking I was only going to use it. I decided not to use it bc I am going after a different way.
