Hey Gang. Rob here from Arvada, CO. I just picked up a 69 K5 from a buddy of mine. I was a 72 K5 owner for a lot of years...probably before most of you were born and definitely before a great internet resource like this one!
The 69 seems like it has about a 3" lift. It has a "wild horses" 2 stick transfer. I found that strange, cuz I thought that was only for Broncos. After I cleaned off all the crud underneath I found a Dana transfer...but again, I thought we wqere all New Process equiped. No telling what else I might find. Im assuming its a 350, but I guess it could be a 327 too.
It leaks oil like a seive from the brittle and cracked oil pan gasket (been there, done that on the 72). a damn big job for a guy like me with that cross member! the thing runs pretty good but hasn't been taken care of for a while. Needs (at a minimum) brakes, wiper motor, instrument cluster, fuel level sending unit...for starters. I'm sure I will have all of the stupid newbie questions that you guys hate, but I'm looking forward to being here and I'm really excited to have this thing!

1st gen trucks rule..... welcome to CK5, its a good looking blazer

and on the technical side, some of 'em came with Dana 20 transfer cases, the motor could be a 327 or possible even a small journal 307

Nice lookin K5. Its nice to have another Colorado person here If I can help let me know I have a little knowlage.

Welcome

I have no kowledge what so ever but I like to put my two cents in... Hehe Welcome to the forum. That is a very nice Lookin First Gen Blazer you got a hold of. From the pics looks like a pretty solid vehicle to..:D

Thanks for the info. once i get the dash put back together I'll start scaping crud off the numbers and see whats really lurking under there. I was guessing 350 because it has a Weiland (sp?) manifold and Edlebrock carb, plus an HEI (or whatever its called) distributor. Just seemed like the most common...if its not the original block, that is.
