Hello all, looking forward to some fun wheeling and gaining knowledge :ears:

Just bought an '88 k5 with a 2" or 4" lift on 35's. Tires will need to be replaced soon. I want to go larger. I would love to fit some 39.5's but realistically what am i looking at? It has stock rears and gearing. First and foremost, what will the stock axles hold in terms of tire size? I'm not looking to beat the hell out of it but I would like to get through some nasty stuff. I would definitely need to cut fenders. The lowest I wanna go is 36x14.50 which would probably be my best bet for minimal cutting and wear on parts, right? Well thanks, many more questions to come I know for sure lol

if your very careful you can make the axles work with a 36. i would look for a 3/4 setup that you can pick up cheap. the front 44 wont be any stronger than your 10 bolt but its cheaper than regearing. then look for a 60 if you want to run a 39. the 44 may last but it depends on you.
a 4" lift will be fine with trimming. get some zero rates and move the axles forward and rearward and show us pics

35 with stock axles is all I would go, if you do an upgrade to your axles...

like a 14bff and D60. then u can go big and not worry too much...
