Hello all
I am sure this is a horse that has been beat to death, but my search skills are very lacking.

I just purchased a 78 blazer. The tailgate window was manual but seemed incomplete and did not work. The previous owner was going to convert it to electric. I tried putting the electrig regulator from my 87 suburban in it, but it would not fit. So in an effort to fix the manual one I have questions.

The regulator in the truck now is cable driven and has striped teeth. I do not see how it was possible for it to connect to the manual crank. Is this an electric regulator with a motor driven cable? I think I would actually prefer manual crank versus electric but I will take the quickest fix.

Thanks
Joe

As you've already discovered burb tailgate parts will not interchange into a blazer gate. Also if there is a cable it is an electric gate not manual.

Keep in mind, you need not only the regulator from a Blazer, but you also need the outside crank handle, and it's assembly that connects to the regulator. If you don't have this, the regulator isn't going to do you any good.

Thanks
I already ordered a new regulator from lmc. I have the manual handle and coupling but I also ordered a key cylinder and key. I buggered up the window seals pulling the glass out so I ordered those as well.
