looking foward to gaining a lot of knowledge form you guys!

Almost forgot, i named her troublemaker because last friday the city of san diego decided to tow her because of something with the registration, and when they did they had to drag the front end out as there was a car in front and then drag it about 20 feet to where they loaded it up. needless to say the towing company is getting the repair bill for the transmission that doesnt go into park or reverse anymore :angry1:

heres a few picture i have until i can get some better ones

Cali just irks me on all the for the most part clean sheetmetal out there. :D Luckily for me yall make up for it by probably the second worst state gov in the union, only trailing the great state of Illinois. We pride ourselves on our governors making license plates after serving their term. But hey, atleast we dont have them crazy emissions things.

Nice Blazer, always been my favorite front end of all time. And original AC equipped, dont see many of them.

Welcome. If you've been lurking any length of time you already know this is a great site. If you haven't, I can tell you it's an AWESOME site with a great bunch of people here. You will learn a ton and it will become an addiction in short order. Enjoy :waytogo:.

Whats your plans for your rig? Daily driver, all around play toy, hard care wheeler/rock rig? Lots of us in SoCal. I'm right next to Long Beach.

How does that work, registering out of state? I was wondering if that was a possibility, as I'm CA too and have a modded TBI setup that doesn't have a CARB number. I lucked out as I found a smog place shady enough to not care, but am curious how it works anyway.

Registering out of state is OK until you get pulled over. Then it gets pricey. I know from experience.

X2 on that. I "lurked" for about 3 years before I actually became a full member. What a great investment. $25 per year is a drop in the bucket when compared to the money I have saved by doing (or re-doing) things the right way. Most of the guys on here will offer any help they can to help you build your right the right way the first time, no matter how simple or complex your plans are.

Plus if you screw up, they will be the first to let you know too :doah: :D.

Welcome to the club :waytogo:.

its a lot easier being active duty military and PA is my home state who said i dont have to get inspected or nethign until i cross into PA. :waytogo: and also the transmission is fixed now, the linkage got knocked off the frame so i have park an reverse back.

And to Pblaze that sounds like a great idea!

my plans right now are an all around play toy that i can take anywhere :D

thanks for the welcome everyone!

IIRC, if you're active duty military you can register out of your home state as long as you have that little Department of Defense sticker on the windshield. At least my friend did that when he was in back in 2003. He had Nevada tags on his Ford Ranger while he was stationed at Ft. Lewis and never got a ticket.

what did you not like about the firebird, thought about getting one for driver a few different times

being inexperienced driving a stick (was my first one that was manual) and all the idiot drivers out there i decided it was safer to get something else before i got myself into too much trouble with that car. it wasnt too fast or nething but the rear tires had a habit of breakingloose easy  haha
