New hidden winch bumper

In the Burbs close to Tulsa, OK
Hidden behind the bumper is a Ramsey Profile 12000 with synthetic rope. It fit nicely between the frame rails and will have enough pull for the toughest Jeep recoveries... :D
Excuse the pics. My daughter has been using the camera and the lense was smudged...

NICE... I fit a patriot 15000 between my frame rails in the back of my truck.... fits awww so nice....

what size tires are those and what lift do you have ?

Tires are bias ply IROKs 14/42-17LT on MRT 17x10 beadlocks.

Lift consist of:

Front :5.5" BDS on the Dana 60 that adds about an inch. This equates to 7" in the front...

Rear: 4" BDS springs, 4" ORD shackle flip, 1" zero rate spring to move the axle back 1.5". Yes, 9" in for the rear suspension... That is correct...

7" in the front and 9" in the back...

Thanks, Yes, there are two. The inner fairlead bolts to the winch mount which is a seperate plate. I don't think the fairlead was totally neccessary, but it was cheap insurance. That rope is expensive!

WOW I cant even get enough room from my hawgs... 38.8 true height and I rub like crap... do you have a bump stop preventing them from coming all the way up? That is a sweet lookin rig there.....

16.5 doesnt fit between the frame rails?!?!?!?! Ill have to see how wide it is..
my patriot 15k fit.... :wink1:

Yeah, I have some 4.5" bump stops in the factory location. Oh, there is 2" square tubing between the bump stop and the factory locaiton. So there is effectively 6.5" bump stop... And yes, I could stand some more fender trimming too.
 
Can you get a couple close up pics of the frame mounts? What did you use for your mounts? I'm getting ready to build my bumpers and cage and looking for ideas.

This is true. I just mounted my 16.5TI and can tell you first hand, it is longer than the between the frame rails is wide.

This is over simplified, but should give you an idea. I used 1/2" plate and for the recovery points I cut some 1.75" solid bar 3/4" wide for extra support. You can see this in the drawing. The bumper is mounted on the outside of the frame and the winch mount is mounted on the inside of the frame... I will try to get some more detailed pictures tonight.

I built an entire retaining wall that is 4' tall and about 100' long with all the limestone rocks that were pulled off mine and my neighbors lots. That was the one I kept out for my RTI ramp. It comes in handy...:haha:
 
yea too bad your not building the set of bumpers for sale, Im interested. If you ever decide to, get ahold of me.
