I need to replace the hood on my '90 Blazer. Where do you guys recommend purchasing body panels? Obviously LMC carries all the pieces, but wanted to know if any of you have experience with their sheet metal and how the quality was. Any other recommendations?

Autobody Specialties in CT has some decent repair panels ,hoods,etc..shipping might kill it for you though,if your buying a hood..

Well it appears that lots of us have relied on used, when needing a new hood.
I am not impressed by some of the quality and pricing of LMC on some things. Aftermarket patch panels are thin and don't fit good. And I have heard the same of complete panels. My suggestion is to find out about fitment guarantees.
But personally, I would find a good used hood.

When you factor in shipping and the price of aftermarket you can pay top dollar for a perfect used one and know exactly what you are getting. Aftermarket is notorious for thin metal and lousy fitment on body parts.

My 2 cents... If you're not in a rush, do some Craigslist alerts. FB is great too. Lots of square groups, and square parts for sale groups. Imo, a hood is to big for Extruded Chitanium pot metal. Don't fight that battle. You'll be way ahead finding one local.

Man I have an after market one with the raised cowl thingy. I don't hate it but I like stock better. A while back I put it out on Craigslist that I would trade anyone who had stock. Lots of people interested, none of them weren't bent. I specifically said no damage in the post. Yay-whoos is ons Craiglist that's what! But, anyway mines a '70s. Hard to find a good one. A '90, that's easy.

Thanks for the recommendations - I was afraid that the quality of the available replacement panels would suck. I'll start my search for a good used one.....
