Well, I finally got me another Blazer. Before, I had a 78 with 4" and 33x12.50s. It was really bad with rust and bad motor. I loved it though.
Today I picked up my new 78 that also has 4" lift and 33x12.50s. I need a rear driveshaft for it though. But it was only $600. I didn't notice any serious rust (read surface only and only in a few spots) and two small dents. I probably won't be wheeling it hard like I did the other but I like having the option.:wink1: It has a 203 but it has lockout hubs with "MM" on them. I'm figuring Milemarker brand. Without the driveshafts is there a way to find out if it has a PT kit in it? What if I put a front driveshaft in?

At first I was gonna say that it wasn't a 78 do to the fact that it has 79-80 head lamp bezels. However after looking at the pics again it does not have a gas door so that right there says that it defiantly is not a 79-80. Does it have the lowered foot well for the rear passenger compartment? That is the easiest way to tell if it is a 78 for sure, 78 was the only year with the lowered foot well and no gas tank door.

If you can drive it with either drive shaft out in 2Hi then it does have a conversion kit. With out the conversion kit you would have to shift it into 4Hi to lock the differential in the transfercase.

It does have a lowered footwell and no gas door. The lowered floor for the feet is the reason I stuck with a 78 and not something earlier.

I'll try moving it later after work to find out what I have in the T/C... thanks

looks clean.... nice starting point... have fun!

Well, she moves!!:D And the only wound I suffered was a wrench coming loose while I was pulling it toward my face.:o Yup, nice little gash above my right eye. Good thing my wife is a nurse... she loves wounds (and making fun of me) The things I do to make her happy:rolleyes:

Anyway, now to weld the exhaust back on where the broken driveshaft swiped through it.
