Just bought this K20, have some work to do before I touch the suspension but I'm wondering if its been lifted?
Its on 33s and sits tall but rides horrible. I plan on getting something to soak up the bumps better and level the truck out. Do you think a 4" will keep it around the same height?. I hoping to get the front about 1" higher to level out and shove 35s under there to lower the revs on the highway.
I can't go too high, apparently the cops crack down on that around here.

Also what locker options are there for the 14 bolt govlock? Just the ARB?

And if anyone cares its a 6.2, SM465, NP208, and I love it :D

w/o better pics, it's hard to say. But as far a 3/4 tons go, it looks to be stock ride height.

by 14 bolt gov loc, do you have a gov lock already, i.e. 14bff?

Yes the 3/4 tons had 14 bolt Full floaters, and mine is a gov-lock
The end of the box is like 5' high. I don't want to buy a 2.5" lift and end up with something smaller, but don't want to go much taller than this either.

Get used to the rough ride. I have a 77 K20 with a 4" lift (blocks in the rear) and it rides like a lumber wagon. I will be stepping up from 33"s to 35"s, looks like it'll clear no problem....with the exception of at full stuff.

Oh thats a nice truck, I now have something to dream about lol.
How wide are your tires?
Are you using the factory rear leafs? Mine are like 4 or 5" thick and I have factory dual front shocks, wondering if its a heavy duty setup or maybe their all like that.
That is a sweet color too btw, looks a bit like my 99 that I'm getting rid of due to this truck.

Thanks for the compliment....I've been through a pretty nice '79 K10 stepside, a '85 K5, and a '87 V10 before I finally landed this one...pretty much the solid axle Chevy I've always wanted.

Yes its got lift springs in the front and blocks in the back using the stock leaf springs, and they are thick like yours. I don't have quad shocks up front....matter of fact I don't think I've ever seen quad shocks on a pre-81 GM fullsize. Somebody with more knowledge can chime in. My tires are 10.5"...hope to go to 35" x 12.5"s next spring.

Yeah I love the color of the truck too. Looks a lot like your '99. I've been trying to find the paint code for the color, your 99 might be it!

good luck if it is the same paint code, mines not even listed on my RPO codes.
I guess since I'm replacing all the springs anyway I'd probably just do a 4" lift and be done with it.
Now to find out locker options

Ditch the extra shock up front and you'll be surprised how much better it rides.
