As stated, after installing replacement LED stop/tail light assemblies, I suddenly do not have trailer brakes. Seems crazy but could the 2 be related?

The trailer is used very regularly and is only about 3 yrs old so I'm pretty confident there aren't any wiring issues (but I realize this could be a

The 2 could be related but I doubt it. I would treat them like they weren't.

Ime the only way you can verify if its not a wiring problem is if you microinspect every mm of wiring. Had some screwy stuff go wrong

2006 dodge 2500 with the infamous "Totally Integrated Power Module" so no trailer related fuses.

Have you tried putting the factory lights back in
The tipm may not like the amperage from the LEDs and shut down the power, i think there was also a software flash for the tipm

Just checked there was a software update for the tipm for trailer light issues, a dealer would have to plug in scan tool to see if it has been done or not

The original lights were burned out so I tossed them but I might go buy some more to test with.

I was hoping that changing to LEDs would help the TIPM amp limit issue.

My TIPM has been flashed 3 times which is supposed to be the limit, next is replacement (so I was told buy the dealer yrs ago).

There's no limit on the number of times it can be flashed there have been way more than three software updates for it , but it may have an internal issue that the flash won't fix.

Test light in the trailer plug on the truck is the easiest way to test. Also run a wire from a temp battery. Ground the trailer to it and run the hot into the plug. You should here the brakes hum slightly.
