Hello all,
I have an 82 blazer with a 3" body lift and 35" mickey thompsons. I recently found someone selling a 4" suspension lift for the right price. The only thing keeping me from buying it right now is the fact that I still want my truck to fit in the garage. As it sits right now I have 6" between the top of my truck and the garage door(with the 3" and 35s). SO, if I install the 4" lift will it still fit ok? If i'm figuring this right it should still give me 2" of clearance and the entrance is fairly smooth so bumping shouldn't be a problem. Is there anything I'm overlooking? I only ask because when I went from stock height to 3" lift and from 33" tires to 35s it went up alot more than I thought it would. Anybody have any comments or suggestions?

whew! You North Carolina guys are brilliant! I never even thought of digging down! I was just gonna take a sawzall to the bottom of the garage door! Lol... Does anybody else have a take on this particular problem?

honestly if u put in a 4" lift on your truck it will probably fit, but every liftkit/truck is different so unless u try it u wont know, my truck fits in my garage, with 35s and 6in lift with plenty of room to spare 8ft garage,

mine fits at my moms house, but my house it doesn't, and there the same garage door opening, it depends if your driveway is slanted downwards or upwards. I have a 6" lift and 39.5's at 15psi (I run 15psi all the time). Oh, it rubs the weatherstripping (not the wood trim) at the header and the metal bracket that hooks to the overhead track for pulling the garage door needed some grinding action for clearance.

Thanks for all your replies. I'm going to pick the lift up today so I guess in awhile we'll see if it works for my truck. I pretty sure it will fit and a truck can never be to big so were gonna go for it! I do rather like the hot tub/bar idea though.... Maybe thats what the upstairs will be....:D

I love my 10x16 roll up:D

Bastard...:wink1::laugh:

...next house will have BEEEEG garage doors and the pole barn will have REALLY BEEEEG garage doors.

As mentioned above the 4" lift might turn out to be taller than 4" but it's unlikely and, especially if already used, should settle. Drive the truck for a while after you install the lift and it should definitely settle.

You could always remove the body lift. Kinda unnecessary on these trucks.
