I need to replace my master cylinder, is it better to get one just for another 88 K5 or should I get one for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck? I am keeping stock booster right now. I am also running all 1 ton gear and discs in the back. I am open to ideas. Thanks!

Im running a 1 ton on mine. I think it made a big difference, especially with the rear disc.

Go to parts place and get a MC for an 84 K30 and it will bolt up to my 88 w/ 1/2 ton booster?

Wonder if that'd work on a 91-1500 Sub as well? (14FF/Disc) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

if you do it can you measure the bore and post the size.
as the 1/2 and 3/4 use nearly identical calipers is there a difference in the master?

I have been looking at all the parts places. The 1 ton ones and the 1/2 ton one seem to be different. I'm just gona get a 1/2 ton one and be done with it unless anyone has any input. Anyone?

I found some Master cylinder sizes for you mj. These came off of the AC delco page for replacement parts. According to them, a 1982 Blazer with a 350 and PB has a master cylinder with a bore size of 1 1/8". Same year K30 truck with a 454 has a master cylinder with a bore of 1 5/16". No hands on data here though..

the problem is going to be the core charge i just called work and an 85 1 ton m/c is 30...and a $30 dollar core....a booster for an 85 1ton is 120 with a 60 dollar core....a booster for an 80 1ton is 35 and a 20 dollar core

just info

Friends '83 350 C30 has hydroboost. On the Blazer brochure page there is also a 1982 Suburban dealer brochure, and it will likely mention system, but the pages don't appear to be accessible right now.

The 1991 dealer brochure also shows the braking system, and I saw hydroboost listed, but not sure on what applications. Perhaps 454 or one ton only.
