Hi Guys

Just bought my first K5. Site unseen off FleaBay so wish me luck!

I have never owned a Blazer. Truth be told I have been a lifelong (ducking) Ford guy. However as a fleet mechanic I have fond memories of the 88 or so square nose GMC 3500's. Easy to work on they earned my respect .

Anyways my questions is on Bumper Guards. You know those vertical chrome strips that as young men we removed as soon as we bough a new car! :D

Mine is a 1991 Model year and it looks like is a rather oddball year(for bumpers anyways). My bumper did not come with them (factory) but I figure all I have to do is drill a few holes.

So whats the skinny, anyone sell repos for front bumper guards?

Thanks!

Tommy D

:thumb: welcome

were in ny York are you ?

and no holes to drill . they go over top of the center 2 sets of bolts with the longer bolts .

hard to find . no real repops available . from time to time a used set does pop up .

Are you talking about these? Not sure if you can find these new. It may take some looking to find some used ones. Good luck and welcome to a great site! I just bought the Burb and it had them already. I'm a big fan of them also. I may be adding an aftermarket bumper( The bumper center on the Jimmy to the left). If I do, I'll let ya know:waytogo:

Now that I look at it, the other post was for an actual push bar, not the stock things. LMC sells em, but that would be a last resort. There's gotta be tons of them around, but it's probably one of those things that nobody thinks to sell.

Welcome to CK5! Congrats on your new rig. This place has the best and most knowledgeable group of people on any forum out there.

We like pics, so post up!

Yes those are EXACTLY what I'm looking for. If you would keep me in mind. However my bumper has the plastic impact strip on it, so I wonder if it will fit.

Sorry about all the quotes, working off an IPHONE that I'm about ready to throw out the window.

Welcome to the site!

Just as an FYI I believe the technical name for them is "bumperettes" should you start calling around hunting for them.

Well so much for LMC

Thank you for your email. We do not offer the vertical bumper guards. We do not have a supplier for these parts. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the link! No if they came off a bumper with impact strips, they will work. Seems those bumpers were an option and require a unique bumperette.

You could probably trim the impact strip carefully and make em work...

Just to illustrate, the following are the style bumper guards Ill need. Its what came on K5s with "bumper inserts".

I don't have any of those black plastic ones, but I have some of the chrome ones.
