Hello everyone I am new to this site so please do not beat me up. I am working on a 1986 El Camino so I am not to up on blazers and Suburban. Well I have always wanted a blazer or a Suburban to go wheeling. Well I came across this and not sure if this is a good deal or not. I was hoping you guys could tell me what you all thought since I am not to to familiar with telling what is good and bad.

Thanks

In my opinion, you could do better. First off, do you really need a Sub with a 12" lift on 44's? Unless you do a lot of mudding, I'm guessing not. Secondly, to replace the tires is gonna cost you about $1200. He says that it has rust everywhere which is a major PITA to fix yourself and costly to have it done.

On top of that, it says you have to trailer it home because it has brake issues and a bad master cylinder. It runs rough at times etc, etc, etc...

I'd keep looking if I were you, there's better deals out there.

The 1 ton drivetrain is a pretty good deal for $1200. If you haven't driven a big truck like that before, than it sounds like the body and motor issues might be a problem. I say if you really like subs and want to dedicate some time and money to it, go for it. Otherwise find something smaller with fewer issues.

this looks like a good truck that could be parted out IMO. the drivetrain could easily go for the asking price in the right area. then that huge lift, somebody out there will want it.
if you went that route you could have a sub to do with what you want or sell the sub and take your profit for a blazer.

It says a 1 ton D60 rear. Not a 1 ton driveline. Look at the 3rd pic. The front end won't last on 44s and the rear is questionable.

If you need 44s, 1200 for a set that is mounted and a truck you can sell will recoup some of the expense doesn't seem too bad. Or sell the 44s and 12" lift and get some smaller tires and shorter lift. It all depends on what you want to do with it.

Stay away from that IMO. Especially if you are new to this. Previous owner **** will drive you crazy, and possibly drive you away from 4x4ing all together. Look for a stock blazer, any year will do. Put some 33" mud tires on it, and go to town. Build from there.

Welcome to CK5, no one here is going to beat you up! You will find a lot of information on this website. So be patient, dont run out and buy the first truck you see. Spend some time looking through the forums and talking to some members here first. Arm yourself with some knowledge before you go truck shopping.

A lot of people "make mistakes" and say they have a one ton drivetrain and they really DONT! Now whether they do this on purpose or not, I really dont know. I'm sure some do it on pupose, hoping to lure a buyer who is not exactly sure what he is looking at. People also like throwing the words "heavy duty" around.

well said...

Thanks a lot guys. I am new and do not know much about k5 Blazer and suburbans. So your guys option will really help out since you all know more about this stuff then I do. Also if nyone is near Bucks County, Philly, Trenton and selling a blazer or a suburban let me know I am looking if the price is right

Thanks again

looks to me like a huge headache.way too much lift and tires.and he says the tires on it are questionable as far as needing new ones.id find a cleaner truck for that price and build it from stock.at least if the body and running gear are good you can at least drive it away from the sale point and drive it while building it.how far are you willing to travel for this truck?ive seen a lot of decent ones on the cl up here in lehigh valley.

Patience is key here, if you know you like blazers and burbs sweet ones are out there, just got to wait around for them.

Have you ever four wheeled before? If not stay way closer to stock. Burbs are just huge, certainly capable in the right hands but huge, blazer might suit you better or a pickup short boxes make great out of the box wheelers.
