Ive been a member for a couple years and finally decided to pay up my 25 bucks since i'll be posting a build soon and figured i'll support the site while i'm at it.

I've got a 1971 K5 that i've had since around 2003. I've decided to tear it down (never a good idea!) and rebuild it with all the nicities. It was originally a basic low optioned truck with a 350/SM465/NP205. When i'm done it will still appear low optioned on the outside with the stock color and bumpers but will have a LQ4 (already acquired), AIR CONDITIONING!!!! and the same old SM465/NP205 combo. It's got a 4 inch lift now (not pictured) but I will either add some zero rates or go 6 inch with 35's. This won't be a rock crawler or any kind of trail rig but more of a DD/weekend camper with occassional trips to the beach and such. My overall goal is a nice looking 1st gen that's reliable enough to take on long trips. Like I said, the only offroading i'll end up doing is when I take it on trails to some camping spots.

As progress is made i'll post pics and try to make it as informative as possible especially concerning the Gen 3 swap.

That SUUUURE is a nice dark green K5 sitting there beside yours in the Home Depot parking lot! Actually it's not, it's quite the piece of poop in reality. :(

I'll swap you a 72 Jimmy white piece of poop for the green piece of poop. Straight up, I'll even drive to Temple so we can meet half way.

Seriously though, those are both good looking trucks.

I like how the blue one is parked "defensively" across the line to prevent door dings!!!

Welcome aboard BTW.
