How's it goin guys, I currently have an 84 problem child that is my little brothers dd. Ran great for 2 years then all the sudden the last 2 months have been nothing but problem after problem. Currently it will start when it wants and after its started I can shut it off and restart as much as I want but let it sit about 20 mins and it wont start. New cap, rotor, coil. The modulator and pick up both test fine. Im goin nuts.

Im not pointing it to your problem but I've heard horror story's of modulators testing good but performing bad.

Actually.. That did happen to me on my K5 I had. Tested good. But still wouldnt work!

Does the truck just crank and wont start when it is acting up? I had an ignition module that on my el camino several years ago.

Well it was the modulator. Tried to start it an nothing, changed it an it fired right up. Truck runs so much better with the new one. Just for kicks I changed the one in my boats hei and it also made an improvement on it. Looks like ill be changing the modulator with every cap and rotor I change. Thanks guys.
