So my motor mounts on my 88K5 are shot so I went and got new ones but the are slightly different than the old ones. What gives??? Can they be mounted with just 2 bolts? I would think it wouldnt be a good idea but im not sure. The old one is on the left...

Did you get ones for an '88 pickup, by chance, rather than the Blazer?

The spacing to the center bolt is wrong too, so those need to go back, IMO.

So i think I got it figured out... According to the title and registration my Blazer is an 88, HOWEVER I looked on the door sticker and the actual manufacture date is 10/87. I then looked up the motor mounts for and 87 and the picture shows the correct mount. Stupid split years! Now I just have to hope oreilly will trade the mounts out because I dont have the boxes for them anymore :angry1:

I'm pretty sure all post 80 K5's use the mount to the left, if not even earlier... I've never seen that one on the right... i know my 87's are like the left....

So i did some more searching with the guy at Oreilly and from what it looks like the one on the left is the more common one. The one on the right is used in the 90's model IFS 4x4's. Im thinking that becuase the trucks went IFS in 88 that it has it under the blazer as well instead of waiting until 91. Also we looked under an 88 Suburban and in had the right part. Weird...:dunno:

yeah, that's a crazy looking mount on the right. You sure that's not for an S10 Blazer? Dunno

nvm

Wrong one. Take it back. Tell your idiot parts guy any year other than '88 on up. Parts guys are real stupid when it comes to year splits. Tell him somewhere like '85 or '86 and you sould get the correct parts.

My 1974 mounts look like your original mounts:

Got them off Rockauto

Well I got the mounts in and I can definitely tell a difference when I get on the gas and when it shifts. I need to start writing down what parts are from what years on the blazer. Heck I don't even know what year the front and rear axles are out of because they are not original.
