New motor no spark

Okay i bought a rebuilt 350 to put in my 86 Jimmy to replace the 305. I eliminated all the smog. I have it all together, everything is hooked up but I have no spark. The distribitor i took from the 305 so i know it worked when i pulled it. The Motor turns over fine but just no spark. Please Help.

I'd check 12 v to the coil, 1st,

if so take cap off and ensure rotor is turning, (dist is engaged to oil pump)

about all I can think of right now, I still full from lunch and can't think!

Is the distributor an HEI?

OKay there is 12V to the distrib when key is on. Its an HEI, I replaced the coil, and the mondular, still nothin. The rotor spins and everything. So any suggestions would help.
