Hi,
I found a shop that did a great job in Glenwood Co. Not due to there fault this was from original install. My radiator is 34" x 20" I know it is an air flow issue because it only happens when go stop in town once on highway no problem. Talked to Derale and they told me I needed to get a custom shroud made is that true am I the only one with a 4 core large radiator like that. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Aftermarket or factory type radiator (you only mention size)?
Using a fan clutch? Is it good?
Blade count on fan?

If you don’t have a shroud I would agree that’s def your problem. I would think you could make a factory shroud work.

Definitely need a shroud, if you don't have one get one or make one

The derale fans come with a shroud just doesn't cover entire surface of radiator several shops have used this application and said it would work. These are electric fans with 4000 CFM thanks for your input.

Ok we get it:pimp:

So in your case I would make a custom shroud that would cover the whole radiator and space the derale setup about an inch away to allow the air to come from all corners of the radiator to go through the fan.

Thanks for your help.

I'm working on a '83 with a 6.2 DD. It came without the shroud or fan. Is the DD and 454 interchangeable? I can't seem to find a fan either, know of a part number?
I went ahead and bought the durelli fans and had a radiator shop just welded to the radiator and it works just fine. Really happy with it the only thing I'm getting two separate buttons on the inner cab so I have full control of turning on and off the fans. Some people squawk at that and say you should connect it to your computer and let it do it automatically or what not I just like having full control especially when it's winter I may not want any fans whatsoever. Hope this helps
