Hi all - Looks like a new paint job may be in the works for my 83 Jimmy. I like the looks of a all-white K5, but am still partial to my favorite color... Charcoal Grey Metallic. I'm thinking of sanding the topper smooth and having the whole thing sprayed. Anyone have pics of a all Grey or all white K5 out there? Wanna see some more to help make up the mind. Thanks, Gary

There is a really nice gray one around here. I love that color too. I'll try to take a picture of it, but chances are, by the time I get it develpoed, you'll already have it painted.....

Nah - Unfortunately, I won't have it repainted that quick. Still a month or so out. Still a thought right now. A few mechanical things to fix first.... a priority in the wife's opinion. - Gary

Hey I gotta paint mine someday soon. It's gray but got that great GM paint (faded and peeling BAD). I like the idea of smoothing out the top and painting that too if it's not that much extra work. Anyone actually smoothed out the textured top?

Yeah, A guy here on CK5 smoothed his top. Looks sweet, and I'm going to definately do mine too. His whole blazer is dark blue and he has a cowl induction hood and F-series aftermarket bumper... Sweet rig! I just can't remember his name. - Gary

My K5 is all Dark Blue....I smoothed the top to match.....I think it turned out great....I don't have a pic that shows off the smoothy paint job on the topper, but when I get to workin' on it prolly Tues, I'll try to post a few pics.....when I painted mine, I replaced all the gasket stuff for the topper, and since it turned out so well, I did the felt/gaskets around the doors also.....just got the two wing windows to do now.....I also had a 68 Rambler American that I had painted Cadillac "Sheffield Gray Firemist" (back in like 81 or so).....I really liked that color a lot....thinkin' that if I ever change the interior of my truck to something like gray Leather from a newer Tahoe, I'll do that same Firemist color again.....I'm thinkin' I need about 385hp in the engine bay first......LOL.....when does it ever end?....JD

I'm at 10th and Plum....10 miles from nowhere, and Plum out in the sticks....Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..

Mine is all grey but I don't have the pictures on this computer. Email me at my address and I'll be sure to send it to you on Tuesday. In my opinion...hahaha...there are only 3 colors. Black <---my first option, Grey, or white.

Yeah, I have a pic of your saved from before... Looks sweet! Any reason why you chose to make the top white? I think I'll have to go 100% grey. Going for that newer one-color look. Thanks, Gary

I ran out of paint...and never bought more. My paint is chipping in some areas,so I need a new paint job. I'm thinking about a lighter shade of grey,or dark blue. No matter what color I pick the top is going to be painted to match.
