New powerstroke engine

What's the point with a Cummins swap? You're motor has already gone 342k and is still alive, so longevity isn't a problem - heck, it will probably go another 300k if you take care of it.. Another 7.3, whether new, remanned, etc. would simply drop right in. Seems much simpler to me...

........I know a guy in Southern Alberta that has put 700,000kms personally on his '97 F350 7.3 since new......never a major mechanical engine blip. I've, never been a 7.3 hater.

7.3 reman, simpler swap sure........but stock sucks. You of all people should understand that.

Modeverythingitis..........its a sickness, we all have it.

The point with a cummins swap for me would the fact that a lo-milage used cummins engine is easier to come by and would be cheaper, but the cost of the parts to convert might make that not as good of an option. They havent made the 7.3 that is in my truck since 97 and most trucks are like mine and have spent their lifes on the road and are eat up with miles. If I could find a used 7.3 with around 100k on it and I knew the history of it I would just put a used engine in it.

If mine will last another 100k,and it very well could,I will be happy.

You could always find a good core engine and rebuild it yourself. That would actually be an interesting project :D
