I just picked this up today. She's gonna replace my 89 K5 Blazer as my work truck. That way I can begin to pamper my K5 like she deserves:D.

The Yukon needs to be completed. The sellor replaced the head gaskets but ran out of money to finish her off, so I was able to get her for a cool $1000.00.

My plan is to invest another $500-$1500 to complete her and make her mechanically sound.

not much better than 95 year.

newer style interior

faster more programable comp for tbi. and 4l60-e tranny = shift kit in comp program easy.

and last year for tbi = :D

basicly the same as your 89 k5 but wraped in a diffrent skin. so if you know how to work under the hood of your 89 it will be basicly easy.

will say tho. inside needs 1 he!! of a cleaning job.

I will need some more info on the program upgrades for the ECM available plus installing a shift kit. I want a firmer shift and maybe a more stout torque converter for towing.

Engine fire? Those rigs rock, only thing different from my 94 was the interior.

They are a blast to drive. Quick enough, agile, put a good shift kit on there, and drive it like you stole it. My 94 was my first vehicle.....loved that thing.

Looks like you are short a wheel/tire. Spend time on craigslist and pickup a good set of 6 lug 17" takeoff's from a newer truck with tires for $3-400 if you find the right deal. Will make it look a lot better.

Good luck!

I want some 33's BFG AT on there. I had planned on keeping the stock aluminum wheels for some 33/12.5/15's. I will look for some lighter but stronger 17's if i can find them.

I'd be leary of running non-stock offset, or larger tires.

I rubbed my 265's a time or 2 in the back, at full stuff.

Maybe some 285's on stock 17's, but i wouldn't go bigger.

The IFS stuff in the front end wears out quick enough on stock stuff. My lack of motivation to cure all my front end quarks after 175k was the reason i sold the truck .

I was considering a 2inch body lift. I found these on CL: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/pts/1664457839.html

I will need some ground clearance, if this truck is to replace my K5 for work. It's going to see plenty mud and snow during the winter months.

Those come off of a canyon. Not sure if the backspacing works, i am assuming its the same 6 lug pattern though. Should be able to find some off a full size truck. Every full size 6 lug wheel from 95+ will fit.

Should be able to find a set with good tread in teh 400$ range, that you can run til they are used up, then go bigger on tires.

I'm not ineterested in the used tires man. I say that because I travel 600 plus mile when I go off to work and I dont want to experience flats or blowouts.

I invest in my safety from the getgo. I'll get a new set of BFG's before I drive this truck anywhere. Until then I'll use the K5.

Got it. I've bought and sold those rims a lot, my going price is normally $150-$170 depending on how much i like that particular style. Good luck!

i got my set of 03 z71 rims for 30$!!:D

there are deals out there. with a body lift you can easily fit a 315.

Well I have her running now. Motor is completed and the timing was set two hours ago. It took me three flushes to get the gunk as a result of a blown head gasket out of the motor. That stuff was like a carmel shake.

Tomorrow, I have to adjust the valves since I'm getting alot of chatter. It is very loud. I also have a code 43. I believe those loud valves may have something to do with that code.
