Saw an ad in the local swap sheet for a "1971 3/4 Ton 4x4 - Needs Work"
I went out to look at it and it followed me home (minus $650). The fiancee' was thrilled...
The body is real straight, has only surface rust - no rot/cancer at all. Frame is great. 4.10 14-bolt rear and D44 front. It has the original sales receipt, owners manual (with the salesman's business card stapled to it), warranty papers. It was manufactured in Fremont, CA and sold in West Covina, CA.
I've got another '71 C10 in the yard I can pull parts from (like a pristine inner/outer grille).
Here's the plan:
Strip and POR-15 the frame/axles
Not sure of a body color yet - maybe blue or hunter green
4" lift (springs up front, ORD shackle flip rear)
35x12.50 tires
TH-400 tranny w/ NP205
TBI 454 engine
