I just aquired a 84 K30 and am considering putting a tube bed on the back. Not sure what route to go. This will be a trail rig with some DD detail(occasionally) So what I would like is if you guys have pics of trucks with flat racks or tube beds could you post em up so I can get some references? I believe there was a post on these but I am coming up short. There were two trucks I seen and wanted more pics of. One is a red Toyota the other is a 84 Chevy Orange that was at EJS.

Sounds like a good project. I'm aquiring parts for mine now as well. I guess I'll have to open a sarcasm filled build thread soon too. :D Haha
The truck that Hazy posted is so awesome.

I spent Saturday (3-31) morning getting everything organized. We hadn't got the welder moved into my brothers shop yet so we had to wire that in and do some other cleaning before we could get to work. Here is what i got done.

Here is Easter weekends progress. I removed everything from the inside of the cab. While I did that my brother built a adapter for the engine hoist to lift the cab with. It worked great. It was all built from scrap metal in the shop. So now the frame cleaning begins and hopefully it will be painted by Friday. So Sat and Sunday we can put the new body on. When I went to unbolt the cab mounts I found that only one of them was actually holding the cab to the frame.

Oh man.
Too bad you guys have to go thru this back east.
Out here we have the nice clean trucks that don't need anything and what are we doing?
Parting them out. :o

We say this truck has rust, that means the paint was peeling and there is some surface rust.
:D

I know what you guys have. I have bought two western trucks. One was a 72 Blazer from Flagstaff Az and the other was a 68 Bronco from Redwood City Cali. We get to literally build them from the ground up.HaHa

Do you know Jeff, or just a pic you found. I go wheeling with him all the time. This rig is badass
The bed tube with removalable sides. Sure doesnt look that clean anymore.

This week I got the frame painted and the new cab mounted. Here are some pics.

Holy ****, Batman. I never cared much for living on the edge of the desert until I saw your pics. We don't have much humidity, get 16" of rain on a wet hear and have no road salt at all. Maybe I should load up a bunch of 80's trucks and head north and east, we don't typically have a fraction of the rust you guys deal with. My hat's off to you for tackling that much project, sure makes me feel spoiled :D
