Got the rear finished up last night. It's not painted yet...

Rene great work as always, do you have anything bracing the side piece from folding in?
I'm thinking if I need to on my rear bumper. I'm using c channel for the main rear part but want tubes on the corners to protect the 50 year old body and to match the look of my sliders and front bumper.

Yes, I'm adding a brace tonight. About midspan on the wrap around, up at a 45 degree angle to a plate next to the tailpan. That plate is bolted to the floor plate for the rollbar. The rollbar plate overlaps the tailpan by half (two bolts through the tailpan and two through the floor)

Technically this isn't the correct thing to do because I don't plan on a body bushing in there from underneath...but I'm gonna try it anyways.

A hit from underneath should transfer the impact through the cage.

I'll draw up what I have planned for the corners to get a 2nd opinion(or 10th opinion by now,LOL) on it.

Great looking bumper, Rene! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Very nice again /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Can't wait to see the cages /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Got most of the rear part of the cage bent and fit up tonight. I like it so far, very similar to the cage in the UAV. Why mess with a good design? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
