I was cutting up my shackle hangers on my Jimmy for a shackle flip, and when it didn't feel like it wanted to go back together right, I noticed something a little odd about one of my shackles.

Needless to say I am now in the market for a pair of shackles, where can I buy heavier than stock duty units?

ORD makes some nice, beefy shackles. I believe a company called Hill makes shackles too.

The one pictured is for the rear springs, I don't think either company makes replacement rear shackles. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

You might have to go to a lowering shackle in order to buy something different (or make something).

I thought it smelled funny in here. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I ran by the usual parts stores around here looking for generic drop shackles, they all look like they're made out of tin. I don't particularily want to build my own. Mostly because I'm lazy, and I know I don't have the steel to do it kicking around, and steel is just too damned expensive right now.

i have some stock ones if u give in and dont buy aftermarket shackles /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Actually, I supposed I can return the shackles... and I'm already getting a bushing set for stock sized shackles as well (came with the leaf spring set)... I think we might be able to work out something that involves blocks, ubolts and shackles this weekend.

Sounds like a plan... "pull a set" .. you have a junkyard of c/k trucks down there in AJ or something?
