Say I wanted to upgrade my rears, I have 10 bolts now, I need something that will survive larger, prob 35 inch tires, though I suppose the trans would bethe weak link there?

I also want something that will have no problems with light/medium wheeling that I plan to do.

What should I be looking for?

For up to 35s and light wheeling... you should be fine with the stockers. Just use common sense.

just go to a GM 14 bolt 3/4 ton FF with the stock gov lock. you can run any size tires. check out top truck challenge, most run them or rockwells. most come with 4:10's and thats what most stock axels are so that would be your best bet, but i agree with four by ken that you will be fine with stock axels. oh yea and there cheap.

Your stock axles will probably be fine for you but keep spares around, if you break a rear axle you will need to fix it on the trail or your truck will not be drivable.

If you want to upgrade the rear a 6 lug SF 14 bolt would be a great way to go. They are tougher to find than the 8 lug SF 14 bolts but you will be able to keep the same 6 lug wheel pattern front and rear (or you can get a FF 14 bolt rear and convert your front to 8 lug along with buying new wheels, search ;))
