New Ride! 78 GMC. *The build thread that never was?*

Trevmontain, if you ever get the desire to cut your truck like that call me first I'll give you top dollar for it

Come on now. I'm not being serious, just spouting ideas. Trimming fenders on a rig like that wouldn't be done with a sawzall. That's why I highlighted (nice) meaning some serious time devoted body work. Simply having fun with what I'd like to do with his new truck. That truck stock or slightly modified, awesome either way.

you definatley have buckskin carpet, but thats new.... the dash would be a similar color, tan-ish....

the trim pieces color looks pretty tan to me, but the dash is definatley orange lookin.

Just wanted to add a few pics of the truck. Its been pretty well neglected sense i got the Blazer...

I have the exact same seat in mine except they are blue and the center console has a wood top. Does the center seat flip up and have extra storage underneath?

Nothing new with the truck but i have been driving it latley while i work on the blazer. Man i love this truck. Always runs good and is down for whatever, whenever. Just so cool to drive. Soon as im done with the blazer, im going to rebuild the front end, do new body mounts, re paint the white part, new bed side trim, and a tune up. Good stuff.

I have a very clear vision of what i would like to do with this truck now. To bad it likely will never happen... Anyway, I would like to fix all the rust and get it painted first off. Original colors of coarse. Then, i would like to do a 4" tuff country ezride lift, 36x12.5 super swamper TSL radials, 16x8 "rock crawler" wheels, dana 60 front, crossover steering, track bar, 4.10 gears, detroit in the rear, open front, vortec 6.0, keep the th400, swap to a 205 from my 203, "CV" rear shaft, stock front shaft, canvas canopy, Vintage air a/c setup, cruise control, sound deading as much as possible, And thats basically it. Just make it all very clean and very pleasant to drive. Like i said, best case, this is all at least 2-3 years out.... But thats what i really really want to do to this thing!

I guess you probably already know that 400/203 is the desirable beginnings of the 203/205 doubler... If you want a 400/205 you would be better off trading trans/transfer case combo with someone.
