New Ride! 78 GMC. *The build thread that never was?*

I feel like I don't get much done. But I'm pretty confident that this will go fairly quickly. The big thing is I finally got into a good bit more money at work so I can actually bbuy the tools and materials to complete these kinds of projects!
 
Hauled about a ton or so i guess of water logged dirt(mud) to the recycle place today.

It's not even funny how much I like that truck.
If only it was a 4 speed.



They let you dump that there? Or do you have to buy some stupidly overpriced permit?

We had to pay $50 every 6 months to dump brush when we lived in town.
 
I REALLY want to swap in a 5 speed when I go ls on it! But we'll just see. And for dirt it's fking $25! Such a scam!
 
Beautiful truck man it's just like my first truck! But mine had 400/400/203, rolled that truck and I miss it all the time..
 
So my priorities are a little out of whack kinda. But basically, I'm goofing off with the bed here and there, and my money is pretty well tapped out until after the holidays... That beingtthe case, and because I still need to buy calipers and pads for the new axle, the install will have to wait until after the holidays also. I might get it under the truck on Christmas break, but we'll see. Either way, progress is always notoriously slow this time of year, but I'm trying to make sure tomake some prog ress.

You still wanting me to send the D44 gears soonish, or should that be put on hold too?
 
Not an update. But i really hate the exhaust thats on the truck. Sounds "cool". But not good. I think i really want a "stock dual exhaust" kind of setup. This is the best clip i have found of the sound im going for.

Definitely sounds like manifolds and tiny pipes with a really high idle.
 
Not a big update,but one that is music to my ears. Literally. I got a $100 best buy gift card for Christmas. So i picked up two pairs of decent pioneer 6x9 speakers! All it has right now is two 5-1/2s in tye doors taht are both blown... so tye 4 decent 6x9s should be an insane improvement.
