new ride - how to protect underbody

Dude. You gotta come down in a few weeks. I'll have my springs and bump stops ordered.

If you want to use a lift to put your lift on......

You going with ORD stuff, which looks like a popular theme on this site? Because I know I am!:D

Where is the lift?

I've had great luck with POR-15 and heculiner or any other bed liner you may prefer. Also if it has carpet or even rubber flooring the stuff they use for sound deadening material underneath it soaks up water, I generally strip it and replace it with EVA foam and lay the carpet back on top. The EVA does not hold water and is a good acoustic damper. As far as clear? I'd just do a nice job with some POR-15 and then prime and paint it. I wouldn't go nuts with clear also clear coat is far more expensive (for a good one) then primer and paint.

Just my thought, nice rig though.

Also to touch on your 33s idea I just did the same thing with a new rig I got. 2.5" front springs, 3" rear block, Bilsteins, flipped the spacers on the T-case and put some 33x12.50r15 BFG KM2s and went fully greasable bushings all new ubolts and I was right at $2200 paid $1058 for the tires and about $1100 for the lift (it was a little pricey because of the greasables and the bilsteins) this included tires and shipping for everything, I always deal with ORD great guys to deal with. Truck looks perfect and rides as good as any Leaf sprung truck.

I'm doing a DIY4X shackle flip in the rear and getting Ord custom ten pack front springs.

And it's at my buddies in holton. Idk if you know where powers motor sports is. Right up m-120

Nytmare - do you have any pics of your rig? Thanks for the input too.

Dueling - Isn't Powers in Fremont or are you talking of someplace else?

It's technically still holton. But yes it's by 5 mile corner wesco where you would turn east to go to Fremont.

Also I have seen the "caps spinning in yoke" problem before. It was on an F350, and it was because overtime the torque had "stretched" or "ovaled" the driveshaft yoke, it happened to be on a truck that formerly had a plow on it. A rare case but understandable considering the constant forward to reverse action of plowing. How yours would get that way? They could have lost a u-joint cap and continued to drive it or just driven on a bad u-joint causing it to wear the yoke instead of the cap. It's been a while since I've changed u-joints (i forget which snap rings they have) on a stock shaft, it also could have been because the snap rings weren't properly installed and it either A: lost one or B: lost one previously.

But these are just damage detective guesses.

Yea, who knows how the Forest Service used this thing.. I hope "drive it like you stole it" wasn't there motto...
