Cool nerfs. They look a little like the ones All Pro builds.

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

Thanks for the comments. I will get a couple pics on the K5 and post them this weekend.
I built these to bolt on. I used schedule 40 and 80 steel pipe. They were pretty simple to build but took a couple of weeks becuase of doing some trial and error mock-ups. But that is the fun part of fabricating, if you don't like it, scrap it and start over.

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

what did you use to bend the tubing. i really want to start making custom stuff, but i cant afford some fancy benders.

This is what I used to bend the pipe. You can get them for less that $100 and even cheaper when they are on sale...

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

Did you ever have the chance to post a pic of the sliders on your rig???

What was the thickness of the walls for the steel you used? I am about to use 1/8" thick 2 1/2" square tube for mine. Thanks

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

No, I forgot about getting the pics. I will make a point to take some tonight.
The main tube is 1/4" wall thickness . The bent tube is 3/16" wall thickness.
I will get the pics up tomorrow.

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

I think .125" might be too thin.I dont think it would support the weight of the truck without crushing it.

Some people shouldnt drive anything bigger than their head.community.webshots.com/user/beaterwhang

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

I made a mistake...the 2"X2" square pipe has 1/4" thick walls. These 5 foot sections of square tube weigh about 40 lbs. each. Once I have the steps mounted on them they will weight about 50 lbs.+ each. I plan to have multiple mounts and reinforce the frame around the area the slider is mounted to the frame. Much like the steering box brace. Anybody have any fresh ideas?

Re: New Rock-Slider Pic

I got mine for $69.00. And whats cool is that you could buy it use it. and if for some reason wanted a different one replace it before 90 days. I used mine to make my sliders, for I think a month and then my dad went and took it back for a new one. Unopened and unscrached. For future use. They are kinda cheep but for $50.00 bucks you can't go wrong...
Have fun with it.
