I've just installed new rotors on my d44 and I'm "attempting" to put on the new calipers as well. my brake pads are practically new, so I'm reusing them.

problem is, I can't get the damn pads over the new rotor. the caliper is pushed in as far as I can get it, but I'm still close to a 1/16th from being able to get it down over the rotor. :dunno:

at this point I'm considering grinding the pads down a touch. anyone ever had to do that? seems stupid, but I'm at a loss. :dunno::dunno:

Something is wrong. Wrong rotors, wrong calipers or wrong pads. One or more of them is wrong. Take them back, compare to the old parts, etc.

yeah, you are right. the more I thought about it, the more stupid that idea sounded. went back to the store and the caliper was wrong. looked identical, but the gap was almost 1/2" smaller. must have been in the wrong box or something.

back on track.

I wouldn't reuse the pads on a new rotor, leave them for the next change, get new ones with the new rotor and new caliper.
I usually go for a loaded caliper, only a couple of buck more than without.

what are the F-ing odds!! got home, got the passenger side all buttoned up and moved over to the drivers side...
yeah, that one was wrong too. the connection to the brake line was in the wrong spot, making it hit the knuckle. wtf man. /sigh at least the auto parts store is close.
