new seats

So i just scored some bucket seats from a newer chevy pick-up, thay are the same color as my interior and for $40 I knew I could not pass this up. My question is what is the best way to bolt these up to my 1983 K5 blazer? any suggestions would be great if you have any pics it would be better. THANKS!

I took the top brackets off the factory brackets, welded some 1.25" square tubing to them, them bolted the new seats right to them.

I was thinking the same thing. Looks like square tubing from a screen enclosure

I know it looks kinda thin, but nio sense in over kill. It is just a but thinner that the factory metal used on the rest of the brackets. It looks thin in the pics because the edges are ground on a little bit so I can weld caps onto the ends.

where did you get them for $40?! i want some.

and that tubing? ya it looks too thin too me. also i would bolt all the way through it after i sleeved the bolt hole with some round tube so it doesnt crush.
if you got into a wreck that seat will go flying if anything hits it or you are going fast.

"the seatbelt will catch me"- not if you slide around or under it.

Why would you want to weld the ends closed and then never be able to get at the nuts if you ever needed to remove or work on the seats? You might want to rethink that plan.

you prob should go all the way through that tube, after you sleeve it and use a fender washer.

then you can cap it. . .
