I decided to add the cross over steering. Ordered it all from ord six weeks ago and the parts are slowly arriving (they are sending parts as soon as they are available). I got the two wheel drive box in today. It arrived unpainted. I’m assuming I need to paint it? Any paint recommendation?

The Van Sickle stuff seems to be pretty good. There are a few guys who swear by it. I haven't been using it long enough to give a long term review, but I like the results so far. It's oil based, so be careful of the fumes.

Dupli-color enamel engine paint with ceramic is good stuff for chassis paint. Also steel-it is supposed to be great but to me too expensive.

I got all of the crossover steering installed and it is by far the best modification I’ve made to the truck. I feel completely in control of the truck. It was white knuckle before and frankly didn’t feel safe. I got everything from ord. There is one question about it I would like to ask. Whenever the springs compress (going over a bump), the wheel wants to rotate a few degrees to the left. When they relax, it wants to turn the same to the right, just with a little less force. It is certainly not bad, just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this and if I have possibly installed something incorrectly. I did have to put a Cherokee steering shaft on.

That is likely bump steer. More common when the truck is lifted and the axle angle hasn’t been corrected

I dont know that you can ever get rid of it completely on a lifted modified truck but getting the steering arm higher or the pitman lower will help.
In a perfect world they would be the same height and there would be none, like a factory setup.

They make spacers for the steering arms and drop pitman arms, this is why...lol

Its hard to say for sure but posting a pic of your setup may help...

Thanks for the insight. It’s not terrible, just noticeable. I’ll get some pics when I get daylight.
