Here's some vids of a trip that started on the 4th. The stocker S10 w/ cut fenders, welded 7.5" 10 bolt, and 32" swampers got a severe beating. It held for a long time, but eventually broke an axle. Had to come back on Saturday to fix it and wheel some more. I'll edit as more vids get uploaded...

A strange way to get body damage

Getting the rock out

S10 snapping the axle

Bringing the new axle out

S10 up and running again

Some more rock rash for the S10

AND FINALLY, THE STEPSIDE VIDS...

Getting hung up on a rock

Getting off the rock, then diving into a hole

Crawling out of the hole

A little flex

Clawing my way up

Youtube is still processing, it'll be there. I guess they're running a little slow today.

Alright, I'm done uploading for now. A couple are still updating, but I'm not waiting around for them to finish. I might add some pics later if anybody wants. Enjoy.

I don't think I'm at liberty to divulge such information. Not in public, at least.

:doah:Hmm I am weldin up my 7.5 10 bolt. ......
I wonder how that will do behind a 350 tbi , and 33" Tire's.
Sounds like you'll be breaking shafts in no time! :haha: If you do, it might help to know...
2.5/2.8 S10's had the 7.5" rear end, with 26 spline axle shafts. S10's with 4.3's had the 7-5/8" ring gear, with 28 spline axle shafts. Put one of those behind a 2.8, it might live a little longer. However, all the 4.3L S10's I've taken apart were the ones that had a broken crosspin retaining bolt. Every one of 7-5/8" 10 bolts I've seen, it was broken. None of the 7.5" 10 bolts I've been into have had a broken crosspin retaining bolt. Go figure. Also, 2wd S10 axles are narrower than 4wd S10 axles. So there's three different shafts out there that you may run into. The passenger side is interchangeable with the driver side though, so that's nice.

Sounds like a pretty cool project. The little S10 in these vids will be going under the knife soon too. :weld: :grind: :hack:
