prolly gettin this truck with in the next few weeks. its a 81 k10 stepside, 355 with 6500 into engine alone.th350, np208, 10 bolt, 12 bolt rear. 3.73 gears.

the guy is selling it for 2500 w/o engine or 6500 with engine, engine has 40 miles on it. i am going to buy it for the 2500 with out the motor, and put in my big block that is in my suburban, convert it to carb. then putting the 350 tbi (original burb engine) back into the burb, continuing to wheel the burb and just drive the stepper. then down the road put axles tires and wheels into the stepside

let me kno what ya think!!!

yeah, i kno, i probably would if i had the $$$ but o well. I got that tbi mouse motor in the garage just sittin so i might as well use it.

****IN JUMP ON THAT THING MAN!!!! A stepside that nice is hard to come by. The body on that thing looks about as perfect as mine does and mine just came out of the paint booth!

For $2500 there is no reason that you should think twice about buying that thing!!!
The one thing that would make it better would be a stick shift but you can alway swap one in later :wink1:.

Check out my stepside:

i cant see the pic cuz i am not a full member

yeah it seems pretty good, its got a few little electrical problems but all in all fairly solid.

all the trucks around here are rotten and they all want 1500 bucks and they are shot, and motors are half blown. so the way im lookin at it is that im just saving the body work time...

the bed also dumps too:D

Has anyone successfully taken out the big black a/c box mounted on the firewall and put in a regular one for heat? then maybe filled in the firewall with sheetmetal?...... i have no use for that a/c, its in the way and looks ugly. let me kno

yeah you could change them out, but you would have to mod the firewall, the holes in the firewall between the a/c equiped and non a/c equiped trucks are pretty different and non exchangable. I would swap you systems your a/c for my non a/c heater but just sold it a few days ago. Nice truck though, I would definitely jump on it.
